BRIT MILAH & BABY NAMING:
If you're in New Zealand and have a baby, we can help you celebrate this great blessing with a ceremony that brings them into the covenant, and confers upon them a Hebrew name. we'll help you create a memorable event that honors your faith and celebrates your child's arrival.
For a girl, the naming ceremony takes place during a day which we read the Torah. The days we read the Torah are: Shabbat, Monday, Thursday, holidays, or Rosh Chodesh.
For a boy, the naming ceremony takes place on the day of his Brit Milah, ritual circumcision, which is usually on the eighth day of his life. We can help connect you with a Mohel (ritual circumciser) and help you understand the ceremony, as well as co-officiate with the Mohel. The ceremony can be held at your home or at a synagogue in New Zealand.
Whether you're in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, or any other city in New Zealand, we can assist with the ceremony and provide guidance on how to merge Jewish tradition with your family's individual needs.
During these powerful ceremonies, parents affirm their family's commitment to the eternal bond between G‑d and the Jewish people, and their dedication to Jewish life for the next generation.
